ESOS – Energy Savings Opportunity Scheme

If on the 31st December 2022 your organisation employed 250 or more people or had  an annual turnover in excess of £43 million and an annual balance sheet total in excess of £35 million, then you have to comply with Phase 3 of ESOS.

ESOS requires action by 5 June 2024:

  1. Measure total energy consumption for buildings, industrial processes and transport
  2. Conduct audits to identify cost-effective energy efficiency recommendations for areas of significant energy consumption; and
  3. Report compliance to their national scheme administrator – the Environment Agency in England, SEPA in Scotland, NIEA in Northern Ireland and NRW in Wales.

We provided such services to over 20 large organisations in Phase 1 and over 40 in Phase 2. DEC – Display Energy Certificates

Display energy certificates (DECs) are required for any public sector building over 250m2 floor area that is frequently visited by the public. Redding Associates have provided over 1500 DECs for buildings as diverse as primary schools and the Met Office. SECR – Streamlined Energy and Carbon Reporting

This applies to large organisations – if you are in ESOS you are likely to be under this scheme. SECR requires an annual energy and carbon report to be produced Our ESOS assessment will automatically include an SECR implementation plan if required. Contact us for more information.
